Cleaning up
Bastard....you beat me to it. Quoting from Destructive Nature.
Guilty Gear creators Arc System Works achieved some enjoyable level of success with a new fighting game property, BlazBlue. One of the loudest complaints was the comparatively slim roster. Good news about that, courtesy of the newest issue of Famitsu.
BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger will be getting an expansion of sorts in BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, featuring at least one new character. That new addition would be Tsubaki Yayoi, a previously unplayable character featured in the original BlazBlue. According to details from Famitsu, we'll also get new stages and a refined HUD.
BlazBlue: Continuum Shift will reportedly make an appearance at Japanese arcades soon, with Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 ports expected later.

If you can get BB for less than or equal to $40, then I would buy it. The expansion isn't coming out for quite a while.

Re: BlazBlue: Continuum Shift
I like Tsubaki but hopefully she won't be completely beginner friendly so people don't rush towards her like Jin. But knowing the GG team it's always something like noob friendly on the surface, but those advanced combo's are something beastly. Depending on how much I feel Litchi has changed i'll either have a Main: Li Sub: Ts lineup, or vice-versa, though shits gonna get tough not having that uber DP combo and that straight dangerous Okizeme action like before.

Re: BlazBlue: Continuum Shift
Vahn linked this video in the chat earlier today.
We can see Ragna's new dive move at 3:22 and it doesn't look as bad as people say, to be honest, since you can link it with a 6A into DP. Though, it was done in the corner and I don't know if it works mid-screen.
Also, at 2:10, I kinda sadfaced when I saw Blood Kain Ragna's 5D recovery. Like really, they either need to buff his defense/health or give him a decent drive ability because it looked like Blood Kain's life drain was faster than the 5D's recovery.
Other than that, If you watch the whole video, you can notice that the overall combo damage has been toned down a bit which is good, imo. No more 50% Tager/Jin combo at the beginning of a match and match will last a little longer.
Oh and Hazama looks top tier and Tsubaki is kinda meh.

Re: BlazBlue: Continuum Shift
It's not really combo damage that seems toned down, it's more how much damage attacks do in general, not combo scaling.

I'm glad all the bad characters in CT are getting buffs (Haku,Tager and Bang), however this is gonna bring a whole new breed of J.C Hakumen and shitty gimmick Tagers. Also the top 3 are gettings nerfs which they all needed because they were dumb as hell and stupid clap loop is gone too.
I'm one happy panda right now < = )

Re: BlazBlue: Continuum Shift
The clap loop ain't completely gone, it just isn't anywhere near as deadly.
I think Tager might be a bit too good. He needed buffs but I think they took it too far. Haku is ok AFIAK.

Re: BlazBlue: Continuum Shift
Standing B[m]: doesn't link into ←↓→D~ anymore. B > C > C is still a combo, does about 2500pt.
→C: less untechable time.
C[m]: jump & special cancelable, cannot be cancelled with D anymore, thus C[m] > D setup & combos are gone.
I'm tight.
Did they really have to remove her 3C > D setup? It's like one of her best Bnb combo.
And I don't understand why they removed 5B > 41236D~C. It's true that It doesn't really matter since 5B links with 5C and 5C links with 41236D but still, damage scaling is one of Litchi's main problem..
Looks like they nerfed her more than they buffed her.
Re: BlazBlue: Continuum Shift
Like I said might have to drop her to sub *sigh* who knows anymore. But I never used the 3C > D combo, could never get the timing right. My main combo was the DP which in general seems pretty fucked
I likeTsuba's drive, it's too bad charge canceling can't net you a meter but since specials can combo into each other it's probably a good thing. Her Install special (her version of Hakumens Mugen) could be a bit too good, not sure yet. It has no invince on start-up but i'm not sure what the frames on that beast are either. I'm definitely gonna pick her up though seems fun to me.
Won't be going for Hazama even though he looks like a pimp, since everyone wants to play him ha. I wanted Kokonoe but pffft apparently that ain't gonna happen.
Hard to combo with 6C even? Give me a break and no RC I mean ffs is it still invince on start-up? lol.Tsubame Gaeshi - easier to tech, can not end the regular combo with DP setup, hard to combo with 6C, not RCable, breaks 1 guard primer
I lol'd at that, then cried.Arakune:
- Somebody already found 5000+damage combo

Re: BlazBlue: Continuum Shift
I just creamed myself.
Anyway, so far, I've been hearing nothing but good things about this expansion. Perhaps I should just wait for this game instead, or maybe they can include a "Continuum Shift" patch on PSN and XBL if it's possible.

Re: BlazBlue: Continuum Shift
I like the new art too, better shading makes the characters look less flat and it gives personality to the drawings.
I dunno if it'll be a patch, Arc Sys will prolly make it into a disk and sell it for low price ( like $40 or $45)

Re: BlazBlue: Continuum Shift
Prolly might be ~$30 just like SSF4.
From what I've been seeing, Sekkajin (Mash C w/ Jin) is alot more useful. I wish j.B and 5D remained the same... Well at least it looks like noobs won't rush to Jin like last time as it looks like he requires brains to use this time around.
Also, check this link for some videos from the 3rd loketest on Saturday.

Re: BlazBlue: Continuum Shift
no it most definately won't be a patch it's part 2 so why would part 2 be a patch? it's not a simple balance change, it's part 2.
oh and btw I think Tager, Hakumen and Bang are gonna be too broke now, and Rachel, Lambda 11 (nu), and Arakune are gonna blow now. I mean it's like they were like "Top tier from last game are gonna be shit now, bottom tier from last game are gonna be broke now", I mean it doesn't seem like they want to balance it. but whatever it'll still be a good game.
