The only thing i could think of is sage mode. Would kinda make sense if Sage mode was extremely overpowered so to make it harder to use, you have to awaken twice. idk

I thought he used 8 swords ,because he is the 8 tailed jinchuriki(i have a feeling i spelled it wrong). I gotta look back on the manga.
